Syrians have started to rebel in Syria because of the tyranny of its current government. Their current ruler, Bashar al-Assad, has restricted the people's natural rights, and has abused his power. The people were unhappy with his leadership, so they started protesting, but the Syrian army started firing into the protesting crowds. This caused rebels to retaliated against the army, leading to armed conflicts, and over 100,000 deaths.
