The Egyptian conflict started because the Egyptians were inspired by protests in Tunisia. They did not like how their country was being run because of a low economy and restricted rights. The Egyptians protested, and were successful in abolishing their current government, and elections were held. However, about a year later, the new government was toppled because it only created laws that benefited its own political party, the Muslim Brotherhood. Currently, Egypt is mostly controlled by the military, and recently banned the Muslim Brotherhood.
